Whisky Sour

We at Eazy Egg think the Whisky Sour is the crowning glory of the sour family (its relatives include the Margarita, Sidecar, Gimlet, and Daiquiri).

Believed to have been created in the 1860s, it had fallen out of favour by the 80s - the age of power suits and B-52's. In more recent times, it's made a well-deserved comeback.  

One of our company directors is a massive aficionado. Here he shares his recipe for the perfect serve

Recipe Info

  • Preparation Time: 5 minutes
  • Difficulty: Easy
  • Serves: 1 


  • 50ml Good Bourbon
  • 35ml Lemon Juice
  • 12.5ml Sugar Syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • 15ml Eazy Egg White
  • Ice
  • Lemon Zest (about 3cm round)

To Garnish

  • Orange Slice
  • Cherry on a Stick


Give all the ingredients a good hard shake with ice, and strain into a glass filled with ice cubes. Squeeze the lemon zest so the oil sprays the surface of the cocktail, then discard the zest. Add the garnish, then serve and enjoy. Cheers!
